Lets Pray that Hair is heirless!!!

Hello people........we are now in September. It is that time of the year when Chennai looks at the heavens for its due of rains, when students preparing for competitive exams gear up (ofcourse, exceptions like me do exist), and when school goers eagerly await their first term holidays.

But people in the final year, like me are sadly witnessing the days getting eaten away, as we await the inevitable, the last day of college. But lets not get too syrapy about this, and let us shift our attention towards the current affairs. Again, chennai-ites, especially mambalam residents are in for some good news, with the govt. planning to construct more fly-overs in our area. But let us hope words are put to action, and arent left as mere sops.

As for sport lovers, they too are having a good time now with Aggasi refusing to go down without a fight. But as usual, Indian tennis fans have had nothing to cheer about as the much-hyped PADMASHREE Sania ( doesnt make sense, does it ????) flattering to decieve yet again. But in retrospect, a person on good standing should not, and would not have cared a damn about her performance there, as he would defenitely have known that all this hype would last at the most for two rounds.

But all is not well when it comes to cricket, at this point of time, when the cricketing arena is riddled with the bullets of embarrassment, primarily because of the sully events that took place during the Oval test match. It wouldnt be untrue if I said that Darrel Hair was the root cause of all this, not that I am a pro-pakistani.

Speaking of Darrel Hair, he is indeed one of the best in the list of worst umpires of all times. He has been in the lime-light many times, almost always for the wrong reasons, and this one has not been an exception. He somehow seems to catch up with ugly scenarious, or still worse, he has the nac of transforming any scenario into one. How can one forget the Aussie-Lanka match, which was umpired by this hothead. He has been amidst controversies in 9 out of ten matches that he has umpired (please bear with me for that exaggerated statistic). All this makes him an extinguished, and not a distinguished, umpire.

The dictionary defines an umpire as a person selected to rule on the plays in a game. But Hair, has done all, but this. He has often given biased decisions in favour of a few countires, which is far from being just. But probably the most objectionable facet of his, is that he has brought into the game, the stale flavour of racism, which is least desired. It is paradoxical to note that in striving to wipe of the manifestations of racisms, the ICC is doing nothing more than re-kindling it by employing such umpires.

In sum, cricket has to undergo some over-hauling, not in its rules, but in its administrative areas, by doing away with such people, in its own interests.

Ok guys.........guess that was a kinda serious article (pardon me for calling dat an article :D )
anyways.....do keep checkin out for fresh crap............

signing off,
