The Great Indian Thamasha....

Hello......its been a really long time since i've posted anything new (now this is something i say everytime i post some crap). So I sat down on a boring monday morning to update (read worsen) my blog.
So with polls fast approaching, political feelings are running high. Elections have always been a medium for money-making for some sections of the population,to even make them exercise their franchise, and with every single political party unleashing an open season on its oppenents, and promising a whole new list of bounties, it is a very interesting avocation to watch the proceedings, as a third person. You dont need to spend your evenings going to cinemas, dogging yourself in this sweltering heat, to entertain yourself; instead, grab the remote, watch the NEWS in one of the channels, and then switch to another; you can see both sides of the picture (both of which are true in their own way!!!).
Another speciality about elections is to see how politicians are testimony to many of the wise sayings of our scriptures - "Forget the wrongs done to you by others"....... also, they switch sides faster than the tennis ball in a wimbledon final. But behind all this is a very noble intention....perhaps nobler than the noblest....well being of many people.....let alone the fact that all these 'people' belong to his own family!!!!!
And next comes the star dust. We have been witnessing a whole lot of cine-artistes storming their way into politics. Here perhaps, we could make a generalization as to how to become a CM.....get yourself into cinema first, be it a { hero } or { comedian } (note that there are umpteen elements of Set A that should rightfully belong to Set B ). In any case, if you fancy your chances of becoming a CM, its mandatory that you have to be associated with cinema. For there are so many specimens who are political novices but crave to make it to the office.
Whats more....there are a whole lot of side-steppers ready to leave their closest associate carrying the bag for a mistake of their's....but that is how we define a politician i guess........
But this time atleast, there is a representation from the educated lot- though miniscure in number..something to start with atleast. Whether the win or not is secondary, the intention to save a capsized Indian boat is remarkable.......
However, as mentioned in the beginning, it is of great fun to analyse all this from the viewpoint of an outsider.......for i might have been the same old politician had i made my entry into the world of politics. So who is at blame...politics or the politicians..I dont know......but to say the least....it is the people who are at the recieving end for no fault of theirs....
:)
signing off,
Rahul
